Installation

Installation instruction Solid Planks

Screwing

The laying of Solid Planks with screws of nails is a classic method for mounting. With this kind of installation Kellerwald Planks can be attached on different wooden substructures. At the same time, caused by waiver of adhesive, this laying is the most environmental sustainable.

The width of laying should maximal be 6m (beech and hornbeam 5m max.). All construction work which entails wetness, like tiling- or painting work should be finisehd.

Clamping

Laying of Kellerwald Planks with the clamps system is a great alternative to conventional mounting (screwing onto wooden underfloor) and gets preferred in areas of floor stripping due its low installation hight. The width of laying should maximal be 6m (beech and hornbeam 5m max.). All construction work which entails wetness, like tiling- or painting work should be finisehd.

Glueing

Glueing Solid Planks onto screed or mastic asphalt, caused by a low installation hight, gets preferred in areas of floor stripping. The success of laying parquet depends highly on an adequate substrate preparation. Checking and preparing the subsoil, especially verifying drought, evenness and solidness need to be done according to the rules of VOB DIN 18356.

Glueing

Glueing 2-layer engineered planks onto screed or mastic asphalt, caused by a low installation hight, gets preferred in areas of floor stripping. The success of laying parquet depends highly on an adequate substrate preparation. Checking and preparing the subsoil, especially verifying drought, evenness and solidness need to be done according to the rules of VOB DIN 18356.

Floating Installation

A floating installation of 2-layer engineered planks means a laying onto sound insulation; elements will just be glued in tongue and groove with a special waterproof glue. We recommend a solid gluing on the heated screed for an installation onto underfloor heating! All Kellerwald 2-layere engineered planks up to 16mm with a width up to 220mm are suitable for a floating installation.

Underfloor Heating

To judge the suitability of parquet and planks onto underfloor heating, you have to differ between to criterias:
1. Insulation of planks
2. Technical suitability regarding deformation
Laying Drüsedau Solid / 2-layer engineered Planks onto a hot water underfloor heating can only be done with full-surface adhesion with proper glues. Please follow our installation instructions for glueing.
